Description

The McLoughlin Promenade Ranger-Led Tour takes visitors on the 1.1 mile out-and-back promenade on the Willamette River waterfront. Please be prepared for 2.2 miles of walking on the paved pedestrian promenade. This short hike includes views of the Willamette River, Willamette Falls, the historic McLoughlin House, and the historic Barclay House. Tours begin at 713 Center Street, Oregon City, Oregon.

Oregon City is the end of the historic Oregon Trail. It is the place of immigration, relocation, the American Dream, the physical realization of Indigenous oral histories, the Cayuse Five Trial, rock bottoms and new beginnings. The history of Oregon City is the story of many peoples’ relationship with a place. By knowing our history, we can better understand who we are. Join a tour at the McLoughlin House unit!
