Description

Richard Forliano, a retired teacher and the long-time Eastchester (NY) Town Historian, presents an innovative program drawing participants back to lower Westchester County (NY) at the end of the year 1776, the beginning of the Revolutionary War.  You will be engaged in a simulated, interactive power point presentation based on recently uncovered documents, in which participants will reflect on whether they would take the Patriot side, the Loyalist side, or perhaps choose to remain neutral in the American Revolution.  The  varying perspectives of enslaved persons, women, land owning farmers, colonial elites, Native Americans, revolutionary militants, and people of different faiths will be emphasized.
