Civil War Stuff: African American Soldiers and Flags

Join a ranger to learn about the service and sacrifice of Black soldiers during the Civil War, with a special focus on the United States Colored Troops (USCT) regiments raised in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area—the 1st, 2nd, and 23rd U.S. Colored Infantry Regiments. The program will also highlight the battle flags of several USCT regiments, exploring their symbolism and the stories they represent.
