Winter Solstice Sunrise at Kin Kletso
Join us for the 2019 Winter Solstice Sunrise at Kin Kletso, located within Chaco Culture National Historical Park.
Please meet at the Visitor Center parking lot no later than 6:30am. The Loop Road gate will open at 6:30 am, where all vehicles will be escorted to Kin Kletso, which is located at the Pueblo Del Arroyo parking lot.
At the Pueblo Del Arroyo parking lot, the group will walk to Kin Kletso with a ranger, where the ranger will describe what the event is, how it will occur, and where to stand to see it.
At sunrise, the sun will then appear in a notch from Kin Kletso, which will mark the winter solstice.
Note: Please be prepared for cold weather. If you are planning to stay at the Gallo Campground, please remember that there is no gathering of anything in the park, which includes firewood. Please bring your own firewood, and be prepared for winter weather!
