Living History Day

See Hopewell Furnace come to life! Hopewell Furnace was an iron-making operation but also a community where people lived and worked. Explore the historic area to learn more about daily life in Hopewell's heyday. 

• Staff and volunteers in historical attire will demonstrate spinning, open-hearth cooking, blacksmithing, historic letter writing, candle making, dyeing, quilting, baking in the bake oven, and more.
• Check out hands-on activities to immerse yourself in Hopewell Furnace's community.
• Meet the newest members of our flock and learn about the importance of animals for Hopewell's community.
• Get a glimpse at the industry that sustained the community with our aluminum molding and casting demonstration.
