Description
Join James A. Garfield NHS staff and volunteers at Mentor Public Library on the second Wednesday of each month for a new talk on “Leaders & Legacies of the Civil War Era”! First Ladies Harriet Lane, Mary Lincoln, Julia Grant, and Lucy Hayes all had unique eyewitness accounts to the events before, during, and after the Civil War. Through their stories, we’ll see how this deadly American conflict over slavery impacted the women married to the men in charge.
