Description

Land at Fort Pulaski National Monument has served many uses, and archeology helps us uncover them!

During Fort Pulaski's eighteen years of construction, hundreds of people of all backgrounds lived on Cockspur Island. Archeological work into the Workers Village has led to fascinating findings about how these people lived. Join a park archeologist or staff member for a guided walk revealing this period in Fort Pulaski National Monument's history.

The guided walk follows the North Pier Trail and is about .5 miles total (out-and-back). The trail is either paved or on hard-packed sand, but some archeological resources are in grassy areas. Remember to bring water and bug spray.
