Description

The Mayhew Cabin will hold its annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20th. The event will be hosted by the G.A.R. Hall located at 910 1st Corso in Nebraska City, NE. Two programs will take place for the event. At 11 AM, there will be a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation followed by a "Lessons from Freedom Fighters" discussion. Then at 2 PM, there will be a reading of excerpts from Frederick Douglass's "What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July" speech followed by a "Lessons from Freedom Fighters" discussion. Please note that we will be observing CDC guidelines in regards to the current  corornavirus pandemic.
