Description

We invite the public to join us in the 33rd Annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep, South Carolina's largest one-day volunteer waterway cleanup event!

Every 3rd Saturday in September since 1988, thousands of South Carolinians clear beaches, rivers, lakes, marshes, and swamps of aquatic debris. The sweep takes place in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup, coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy.

Please proceed to the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center upon arrival to check in with staff, sign volunteer paperwork, and grab a trash collection bag, courtesy of the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium. We suggest wearing clothing you do not mind getting dirty, and closed-toe shoes.

Anyone under the age of 18 years old will need to have a chaperone present (parent, teacher, scout troop leader, etc.)
