Description
Mill Girl Harriet Hanson Robinson (1825-1911) spent part of her childhood on a factory floor. Later in life, Robinson reflected on her work experiences and wrote one of the most important accounts of child labor and activism, "Loom and Spindle, Or Life Among the Early Mill Girls". During this talk, park rangers will discuss Robinson's life in Lowell and her career as a writer. This program will also include a discussion of labor and conflict and whose stories are told in United States history. This event is part of Lowell Women's Week.
