On February 17th, visiting ranger Jade Perdue (New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park) will represent the Arrowhead Jazz Band at an evening performance in downtown Springfield at the Pharmacy Gallery and Art Space (623 E. Adams St, Springfield, IL 62701). The performance will begin at 7:00 PM.
Ranger Jade performs in New Orleans with the Arrowhead Jazz Band, a group that connects talented NPS rangers with jazz musicians to interpret the history of this art form as they perform a range of traditional New Orleans Jazz and selections from the Great American Songbook. At the Pharmacy, Jade will perform with members of the University of Illinois - Springfield Jazz community, including Dr. Brian Stark (Director of the UIS Jazz Ensemble) on saxaphone.
This event will be free and open to the public.
