The lights will shine on the black and white diamonds of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse on the evenings of Saturday, December 1, and again on Monday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Come to the Harkers Island Visitor Center at the end of the road on Harkers Island and you'll be able to see the illuminated lighthouse tower across the  water.    You can also see the light at the top of the tower flash every 15 seconds as it warns area shipping  of the location of Cape Lookout and its shoals.

The tower is being illuminated in celebration of the holiday season and in recognition of Carteret County  and other eastern North Carolina  county communities that are still recovering from the devastation left behind after Hurricane Florence roared through on September 13, 2018.
