Description

Join Eleanor Castro, a Mutsun/Ohlone jewelry maker and Elder of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band for a jewelry-making demonstration and workshop. Learn traditional techniques and create your own piece to take with you. Materials will be provided.

Ms. Castro is a board member of the Amah Mutsun Land Trust, an organization dedicated to revitalizing the culture, language, and traditions of the Mutsun people. She learned her traditional beading from tribal members and others, using natural items like shells (clam and abalone) and seeds like (pinenuts and acorn). She teaches a variety of Native American beading styles in Fresno, California.
