Description
Join us for a science lecture by Jacob Schmidt, a graduate student at the University of California Santa Barbara. Schmidt’s research focuses on how waste disposal activities during the 20th century left southern California coastal sediments polluted with a diversity of chemical wastes, including the pesticide DDT. He will share research on how ocean DDT pollution currently affects our local marine life such as our beloved sea lions and California condors.
