Men, Mines, and Mortars: A Bike Tour of Fort Washington's Endicott Batteries

Join a ranger for a ride around Fort Washington's lesser-known fortifications: the Endicott Batteries. 

These massive concrete structures were the cutting-edge defensive installations of their day and represented a quantum leap forward in capability for the US Army of the 1880s. 

Ride back in time from the late 19th century to the World War I era.

When: Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (2 hours)

Where: Meet at the Visitor Center at 10:00 am. The tour will start from that location and follow a 4.5 mile route around the park. 

What to Bring: a bike, your helmet, and plenty of water!
