Mount Rushmore National Memorial

  • Every week on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 AM from June 06, 2024 to August 10, 2024
  • Free

Ranger Talks: Attend a 30 minute interpretive program on a historical or cultural topic related to the park. All talks start at the Grand View Terrace. Talks begin at: 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm

Studio Talks: Attend a 15 minute interpretive program on the carving process and history of the sculpture. All talks are conducted inside the Sculptor's Studio. Talks begin at: 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm

Cultural Programs: Join Indigenous artists, musicians, and storytellers as they share their culture and history with visitors. There are two types of programs visitors can choose from:

  • Heritage Village: Located along the Presidential Trail, Heritage Village is staffed by Lakota artisans from 9am until 4:30pm. These artisans will share their stories, perspectives, and histories with visitors throughout the day.
  • Hoop Dancing: Hoop dancing will be performed daily on the Grand View Terrace at 9am. 

 

Evening Lighting Ceremony: Attend a 45-minute program that includes a ranger talk, short film, sculpture illumination, and a veteran's ceremony. Program begins daily at the Amphitheater at 9:00pm. Visitors are encouraged to arrive fifteen minutes early to secure seating.
