Description
Join us for an afternoon hike to the tip of Sandy Hook and see New York Harbor like never before! From lightships and the Sandy Hook Pilots to the modern-day Coast Guard, we’ll discuss the history and methods used to make New York Harbor a safe place to travel by water. We will start by climbing the two-story Observation Deck and then we will hike on loose sand to the tip of the Sandy Hook spit. This is a strenuous hike! Water, snacks, binoculars, warm clothes, and sturdy hiking boots or shoes are required. Free!
