Free. All programs are free with a valid park entrance pass. Passes may be purchased at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire, Michigan, and cost $25 (per vehicle) for seven days, $45 for an annual Sleeping Bear Dunes pass, or $80 (or less) for the America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands pass series. Description
The Lyle Gun is the only cannon ever designed to save lives, not take them. Watch the demonstration to find out more about this life-saving tool. The program begins promptly at 2 pm on the Maritime Museum grounds with a demonstration of the breeches buoy apparatus. Then, walk out to the beach for the firing of the Lyle Gun.
