Join a ranger for a walk on the cap rock trail and learn all about the life and times of our namesake tree. Or is it a cactus? We will explore the Joshua tree’s many connections to our desert ecosystem, the unique relationship between the Yucca Moth and Joshua Tree, and why the species is threatened today.

This program begins at 3 p.m. at Cap Rock. It is free and no reservation or registration is needed. 

Distance: 0.4-mile loop (0.6 km)
Difficulty: easy, unpaved trail
Bring: water, sun protection, layers for hot or cold weather
