Description
The Stewards are excited to announce the culmination of our 8-week program – A series of scavenger hunts! There will be hunts at the Olmsted, Longfellow, and Kennedy National Historic Sites, that are specifically designed to engage teens and make us think about how our national parks connect to the theme of “democratic spaces.”
Come join us at the Olmsted and Longfellow sites next Saturday, August 13th, for the official launch of the scavenger hunts! There will be fun on the lawn, as well as a table to pick up your own hunt. The Stews will be there too, in case you want to say "hi!"
There will also be a walking tour to kick off the scavenger hunt at the JFK site. The tour will be led by the JFK Steward, Lilly, and start at 3 PM in front of John F. Kennedy NHS. You will get to see new, or perhaps familiar, places and learn more about their history and connection to JFK’s childhood in brookline. You will learn about the forces that shaped him, and the goofy mischievous side not normally associated with the president.
