Description
Youth Work/Goat Work has returned to the Dechow Farm in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District to continue conservation grazing on the farmstead. The goats were last in the park working at the Dechow Farm in 2022 as a test project. Determined a success in eliminating a small acreage of Autumn Olive, they have returned to Port Oneida to continue their work.
This year the goats are currently eating their way through more Autumn Olive and have also added Knapweed to their diet. Their work is immediately noticeable.
If you would like to meet the employees of both Goat Work and Youth Work the park is scheduling weekly “Meet and Greets” at the Dechow Farm on Wednesdays from 10am to noon.
