Geology Rocks!

Join a ranger for a short walk and learn all about the unique geology that makes up Joshua Tree’s famous landscape. We will explore the rocks’ subterranean origins, their rise to the surface, and how they continue to get sculpted today.

The program begins at 3 p.m. at Cap Rock. It is free and no reservation or registration is needed. 

Distance: 0.4 miles (0.6 km)
Difficulty: easy, unpaved trail
Bring: water, snacks, sun protection, layers for hot or cold weather
