Description

Enjoy the peace and quiet of sunset at Greenbelt Park next to a roaring campfire under the tree canopy. Join a park ranger for a talk about the American Indian movement and its connection to Greenbelt Park. The discussion will include a description of the protests that led up to the Longest Walk and its roll in the Civil Rights movement. In addition, information about the local Piscataway Tribe's involvement will be discussed. 

 

The event is open to registered campers and park guests. It will take place in campground loop B at the campfire circle (follow the signs). You are welcome to bring your own marshmallows!
