Take advantage of the Ozarks’ dark skies to view Jupiter and the Moon! Rangers will provide astronomical interpretation and equipment during the viewing.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways offers great viewing, as we have minimal light pollution and a quiet atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the night sky without distraction.

The park will provides binoculars and a few telescopes for use. Bring bug spray, chairs or blankets, and flashlights. Bringing personal telescopes and binoculars is also encouraged.

This event is free and open to the public.

Location

Big Spring can be found just south of Van Buren, Missouri. To reach the pavilion, turn off Highway 60 onto Highway 103 and drive south for about 4 miles. Around the 4th mile, you will cross a small bridge, after which there will be a large field. Take the first left into the parking lot and park there. Meet in the middle of the large field.
