Join author Dan Flores as he presents on his book, Coyote America: A Natural and Supernatural History as he talks about the creature that is ingrained into the southwest landscape. 

 

Author Information:

Dan Flores is a writer and a Professor Emeritus of the History of the American West at the University of Montana. A native of Louisiana and currently a resident of Santa Fe, he has written for the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, and Magazines such as New Mexico Magazine and Texas Monthly. His recent books include American Serengeti: The Last Big Animals of the Great Plains, which won the Stubbendieck Distinguished Book Prize in 2017. Coyote America was a New York Times Bestseller, winner of the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award, and a 2017 Finalist for PEN America's E. O. Wilson Prize in Literary Science Writing. Dan works closely with environmental organizations focused on wildlife protections and restorations in California, New Mexico, and Montana. His most recent book, Wild New World: The Epic Story of Animals and People in America, will be the topic of another Summer Author Series later this year.
