Historic Roswell Mill, A Walk Through Yesteryear

Join National Park Service Ranger Jerry Hightower for a walk back in time and stroll from the Historic Roswell Mill Building past the brick machine shop and along Vickery Creek. Discover 10, 000 years of human history in the Vickery Creek area in just two and one half hours. Learn the stories behind the old stone walls and rusted remnants of this once bustling industrial area. Become acquainted with many of the plants along the easy path that were used by the first inhabitants and settlers for food, medicine, and dye. There may be a fable or two mixed in with the many fascinating facts, this is an easy and enjoyable ways to gain a better understanding of this small part of the Chattahoochee watershed’s rich and diverse history.

Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes suitable for a forest trail, and bring water. You may wish to bring binoculars, hand lens, and camera.
