Description
Soaring high above the open greens of Miller Field, kite flying becomes more than just play—it’s a hands-on lesson in the science of flight. “Building a Kite: A Gateway to Understanding Airfield Dynamics” invites youth and families to explore how wind, lift, drag, and air pressure work together, just like they do for airplanes. Once an active airfield, Miller Field sets the perfect backdrop to mimic aviation principles in motion. By designing and flying their own kites, you will tap into the same forces that launched aircraft from this historic site, bringing the story of flight down to earth, one string at a time.
