Description

Enjoy a magical evening celebrating holiday traditions among the historic remnants of Abó Mission, part of the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. Abó Mission is on Highway 60 just 9 miles west of Mountainair, NM. More than 1,000 luminarias will set the Abó Mission aglow for this all-ages event. Join us for live music, warm up with free refreshments and food, and celebrate with piñatas.
 
A rain date has been set for December 9th.
 
PROGRAM SCHEDULE
4:00 PM | Mass conducted by Saint Alice Parish of Mountainair.
Posada reenactment immediately following the Mass.
 
5:30 PM - 7:00 PM | Luminaria viewing, live music, piñatas and refreshments.
COST | FREE

Hot cocoa and hot apple cider will be provided. Complimentary tamales and traditional biscochito cookies will be served in the pavilion, while supplies last. Piñatas will be available for children.
LOCATION
The Abó Mission is located on Highway 60, nine miles west of Mountainair, New Mexico.
PARKING
Handicap and general parking is available at the main entrance. If/when the lot becomes full, overflow parking with a shuttle will be clearly marked on Highway 60 just one mile east of the entrance to Abó.
PETS
Pets must be leashed AT ALL TIMES.
RESTROOMS
Restrooms are available at the Visitors Center and portable restrooms will also be provided.
