The interpretive hike will explore several historic aspects of Native American life, such as how the people defended themselves, what did they hunt and gather, and why did they build the mounds. Anyone interested in participating in the two-hour hike is asked to meet the ranger at the Indian Mound Shelter at 10:00 a.m. Participants should bring water and wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather.

Anyone interested in participating in the hike is invited to register by calling the park’s visitor center at 731-689-5696.
