Description

Join Guilford Courthouse National Military Park for the annual Revolutionary Lecture Series. Our first speaker to kick off the 2024 lecture series, Trevor Freeman, will discuss the service of North Carolina's Black soldiers in the Revolutionary War. He will highlight the stories of North Carolina's Black soldiers who fought at Guilford Courthouse. 

 

Trevor Freeman is an alumnus of Appalachian State and East Carolina Universities and holds an MA in American History. He has worked or interned in several museums, parks, and battlefield sites including Cowpens National Battlefield. His research interests include the American Revolutionary period as well as Appalachian and environmental history. His master’s thesis explores North Carolina's Black soldiers, and he is now researching Loyalists.
