Join the park for a mounted artillery weekend as we host living historians from the Liberty Rifles and 1st Section as they portray the 1st Rhode Island Light Artillery during the Bristoe Campaign of 1863 when, 161 years ago, they moved through the present-day park. Weekend programs will include mounted artillery demonstrations, firing demonstrations, camp life, and horse care programs. 
 
**Horse-drawn artillery demonstration will take place at 2PM on Saturday 10/19/2024 on Henry Hill. Demonstration includes showing artillery deploying "In battery," loading, firing, and maneuvers on the field.

**Civil War Horse Care program will take place at 5PM on Saturday 10/19/2024, showcasing "Stable Call," grooming and maintenance.

**Informal drills and interpretation will take place throughout the day, Saturday 10/19. The section will be on display in the morning at Matthews Hill (Tour Stop #4) and move to Henry Hill during the 2PM artillery demonstration.
