Description
Special Concert: Delbert Anderson Quartet at Kahuku
The National Park Service and the National Parks Arts Foundation are excited to present a unique concert featuring Artist-in-Residence trumpeter Delbert Anderson and his talented quartet. Joining Anderson will be keyboardist Robert Muller, bassist Mike McCluhan, and drummer Khalill Brown for an unforgettable musical experience.
Delbert Anderson, a Diné (Navajo) musician from New Mexico, brings a distinct blend of classical, jazz, and traditional Diné music to the stage. His innovative compositions fuse Diné Spinning Songs—traditional social songs that unite people and share stories of the past, present, and future—with contemporary jazz and funk rhythms.
As Anderson explains, "Our music is entertaining, educational, and healing ... entertaining in the sense of having fun, relaxing, and enjoying a dance. Many audiences love music they can dance to!"
Don't miss this special performance that connects rich cultural traditions with modern jazz, offering a celebration of both community and creativity.
