Description
In honor of the 148th Anniversary of the Birth of Mary McLeod Bethune, join us on this exciting, ranger-led Bus Tour and learn more about her remarkable life and influence in Washington, D.C., and how the NCNW was involved in the planning of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, which was held 60 years ago.
Stops to include:
- Special U.S. Capitol Tour to see Bethune’s statue in Statuary Hall.
- Wreath Laying at Bethune Memorial in Lincoln Park
- Retrace the historic march route of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom by bus
- March on Washington ranger program at the Lincoln Memorial
