Description
Join a us for a free guided bike tour of the LBJ Ranch.
The ride will begin at 9:30 am in the parking lot of the Johnson Family Cemetery just inside the entrance gate to the LBJ Ranch. Participants should stop first at the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park to pick up a free vehicle permit and map. The state park visitor center will open at 8:30 am. Upon leaving the state park, drive 1.5 miles east on Ranch Road 1 and cross the Pedernales River to the entrance gate of the LBJ Ranch. The gate opens at 9:00 am.
Route: The six-mile loop will follow a leisurely pace leaving from the cemetery, traveling down to the Junction School, and then heading up to the Showbarn at the top of the hill before looping back down to finish at the cemetery. Along the way the tour will make eight stops so that riders can enjoy the views and learn more about the history of the ranch and the Johnson family.
The entire ride is expected to take two hours.
Participants will need:
- Bring your own bike (bikes will not be provided)
- You will be required to wear a helmet
- Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen
