Description

Join us on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 as the City of Hampton, the Fort Monroe Authority, and Fort Monroe National Monument come together to present the Hampton Veterans Day Parade & Celebration. This special event pays tribute to our veterans and their invaluable service to our country and invites the whole community to gather in their honor.

The day begins with a parade step-off at 9 am on Mellen Street in Phoebus, with an impressive procession that will conclude at Continental Park at Fort Monroe. The Grand Marshalls of the parade are Hampton Mayor Donnie Tuck and Major General (Retired) Wallace Arnold. Vendors, exhibitions and demonstrations will be available 9 am to 4 pm at Continental Park.

At 12 noon at Continental Park, attendees will experience a heartfelt “Answering the Call” veteran recognition ceremony, including the Presentation of Colors and a special Flag Planting in honor of those who have served. This moving tribute will be followed by a lively afternoon celebration that’s perfect for the whole family, featuring interactive exhibits, live entertainment, food trucks, and activities suitable for all ages. The afternoon line-up includes the Kecoughtan High School Navy Jr. ROTC Drill Team, US Army TRADOC Rock Band, 99th NY Volunteer Infantry Regiment D Company Bayonet demonstration, H.S.D. GlamSquad Dance Team demonstration, and the Liberty Dolls.

Whether you’re a veteran, family member, or community supporter, this Veterans Day Parade & Celebration is an opportunity to show gratitude to those who have served while coming together in unity and pride. Bring your family, friends, and flags, and help us honor the strength and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
