Junior Ranger Field Day at Valley Forge

Celebrate Recreation at Valley Forge

Where: The Visitor Center at Valley Forge
Junior Ranger Field Day is a day of recreation-themed activities celebrating getting outside, connecting to nature, and exercising the body and mind at Valley Forge National Historical Park.
All activities are weather-dependent. The rain date is Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Pick up a Junior Ranger Field Day worksheet in the visitor center, participate in at least four activities (running, jumping, art-making, fishing, biking, and birding) then bring your completed worksheet to a park volunteer or ranger.
After you take the Junior Ranger pledge, you’ll earn an extra special Valley Forge Junior Ranger Day badge!
Fees
All activities are free to attend! Bike rentals from The Encampment Store for the Ride With a Ranger activity do require a standard rental fee.

Programming runs from 10 AM to 2 PM. The Valley Forge Bird Walk begins at 10 AM in front of the Visitor Center at Valley Forge and lasts for 90 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 prior to the start time to attend this activity. Limit 20 people, first-come first-served. The Ride With a Ranger activity takes place at 10:30 AM and at 1:30 PM. Rides last for 60-minutes and go from the Bike Rental shop in the visitor center parking lot to Wayne's Woods Picnic Area. Plan to bring water and a lunch and ride back to the visitor center on your own.
