Description

Join us at the Surrender House (Tour Stop #10) for a special Juneteenth program. With the capture of Forts Henry and Donelson in February 1862, many African Americans sought protection and refuge near the Union garrisons.

What did the Union victories in Tennessee mean for these freedom-seekers?

A short interpretive talk and discussion will be offered on this topic. UGRR Network to Freedom Handbooks will also be available.
