Description
The fight for voting rights didn’t end when the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was passed. Listen to a staff member tell the story of Tent City, which was where the Lowndes Interpretive Center sits today. The sharecroppers and tenant farmers of Lowndes County were evicted for supporting the voting rights movement and called Tent City their temporary home.
