Description

This free, three hour bus tour will visit sites of 1862 and 1864 battles near Richmond, where a free black community stood in the path of contending armies, where fourteen African American soldiers earned the Medal of Honor in assaulting Richmond’s defenses, and where the fights for the Confederate Capital altered the course of the Civil War, transforming it from a war to preserve the Union into a war to end slavery.
