Shiloh National Military Park is excited to announce a ranger led bicycle tour entitled, The King of Battle: Introduction to Civil War Artillery. Learn about the big guns of the Civil War era, their design, manufacture, and use.
This bicycle ride will introduce the designers and manufacturers of cannon being produced in the United States prior to and during the Civil War. Participants will ride to examples of specific pieces on the battlefield examining Shiloh’s extensive cannon collection.
The ride will take place on Sunday, September 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants will have to provide their own bicycles and riders under 16 are required to wear helmets. Water, sunscreen, and insect repellent is recommended. Please call the park visitor center at 731-689-5696 to register for the ride.
