Messages of Peace: Honoring History, Inspiring Hope

Join us at the REACH Museum on Thursday, August 8, from 12:00 – 3:30 PM for a day of reflection, remembrance, and peace.

In partnership with the REACH Museum, we invite the community to take part in the Messages of Peace program, part of park’s annual Days of Peace and Remembrance commemorating the atomic bombings of Japan in 1945.

What to Expect:
Write a message of peace on a luminary bag to be displayed during the Lights for Peace program on August 9.

Fold origami cranes, a symbol of peace and healing inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki, a young survivor of Hiroshima.

Attend Ranger-led programs at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM exploring the history of the Manhattan Project and Sadako’s legacy.

This is a family-friendly event included with museum admission and free for REACH Members. All supplies provided.
