This week's program-
Tunes of the Civil War
Listen or sing along to vocalists and string musicians as they perform popular melodies from the period, including sea shanties, camp songs, and patriotic airs. They will share stories about the music, lyrics, and their derivations.
Meet at the parking area at the Frederickburg Visitor Center (1013 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg). The program will include a short walk to the performers' area on a grassy, open space near the Sunken Road wall. Participants should bring bug spray and water and wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes. Bring a lawn chair or blanket!
In the event of inclement weather, check the park Facebook page for cancellations or updates. Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County Battlefields National Military Park (facebook.com)
