Special Event
Rocky Mountain National Park's Artist in Residence Program is back! Meet Pavlov's Bell, the park's first Artist in Residence of the 2026 season.
Pavlov’s Bell is a Miami-based instrumental trio formed in 2015. Blending Science Rock and Prog Rock through the interplay of drums, Bass-VI, guitar, and synthesizers. The band — Francisco Lujan, Antonio Pereira, and Santiago Suarez — draws compositional inspiration from scientific concepts and natural phenomena, with a discography that includes the critically acclaimed albums Mala Nota and Expect Delays, as well as Physics Isn’t Fair, named one of the top 75 math rock releases of 2025 by Fecking Bahamas. Pavlov's Bell brings a distinct perspective to the intersection of music, science, and the natural world.
During their residency at Rocky Mountain National Park, the band will capture the park’s soundscapes using field recording and electronic sampling techniques, creating a body of work that bridges the natural world and modern music technology.
Join us on Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fall River Visitor Center. During this family‑friendly, hands‑on interactive experience, visitors of all ages are invited to explore how sound becomes music.
Through multiple open stations, participants will be invited to try drum rhythms, play natural sounds from the park, change sound using effects, and see how images and sound are connected. No musical experience is required—visitors are encouraged to listen, touch, and experiment at their own pace. This is a drop-in program and attendees are invited to stay for as little or as long as they like. This program is free and open to all ages. All supplies are provided.
Thank you to Rocky Mountain Conservancy for their generous support of the Artist-in-Residence program!
