Guided Tour
Tours will last approximately an hour. Visitors are welcome to watch the archaeologists work from the trail at any time during the day. However, due to the nature of the work, they will only be able to talk with visitors from 1:00-2:00 CT each day.
Description
Ranger-guided walk to the Sakakawea Village for current archeological project. Archeologists are doing archeological deposits research to evaluate the bank erosion along the Knife River at the Sakakawea Village.
The participating archeologists are from the Paleo Cultural Research Group in Boulder, Colorado and the Midwest Archeological Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The students and professors are from different locations.
