Description

International Observe the Moon Night

Drop-In Crafts at 7:00 pm
Program 7:30 – 9:30 pm

International Observe the Moon Night unites people across the globe in a celebration of lunar observation, science, and exploration. On September 14, the waxing gibbous moon will be 85% full and bright in the eastern sky early in the evening, allowing for excellent viewing (weather permitting.)

Join astronomers, neighbors, and new firends for storyelling, crafts, science, a campfire, and viewing our friend the moon. Use telescopes and binoculars to view the mountains, valleys, crater chains and vast plains: the Sea of Cold, the Sea of Crises, the Sea of Tranquility!

Revel in our constant companion, the moon - on the same night as fellow earthlings around the world.

Optional: Bring your own marshmallows for the campfire!

Location: Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center, 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek, Georgia, 30022

Parking is limited. Please plan to carpool and arrive before 7:30.
