Description

National Park Week is an annual celebration to encourage people to discover the places, programs, experiences, and stories of the National Park Service. This year we celebrate from Saturday, April 16th through Sunday, April 24th. To kick off this year’s events, Scotts Bluff National Monument will be offering a FREE, ranger-guided, off-trail hike to two seldom visited destinations on the east side of the monument on Saturday, April 16th at 10 a.m. MDT. The theme of this day is “Spark Discovery”, and we hope to do just that by visiting the ruins of the Hiram Scott Memorial Arch and a small prairie dog town in the shadow of Saddle Rock. Interested participants should reserve their spot on the hike by calling the monument visitor center at 308-436-9700. No walk-up participants will be allowed to join the hike.

Reservation or Registration: Yes

Space is limited. To register for the event, please call the Scotts Bluff National Monument visitor center during normal operating hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
