Curious about the blacktip reef sharks in Pelekane Bay?
We're offering a FREE volunteer-led program where you'll learn all about a variety of sharks as both a natural resource (blacktip reef sharks often seen in Pelekane Bay) and a cultural resource (sharks are considered 'aumukua, or ancestor gods of ancient Hawaiians) here at Pu'ukohola Heiau NHS.
SHARK IN THE PARK will kick off on August 22, 2023 from 10am-12pm, and will continue at the same time every second and fourth Tuesday of the month until December 26, 2023. Contact park staff at 808-882-7218 x1011 or visit social media @puukoholaheiaunhs for more information.
