Description

Join a ranger on Saturday evening at 8:00 pm ET for a 1-hour tour of the Blue Heron Outdoor Museum by the light of an oil lantern and a full moon!

The story of the hardworking miners and their longsuffering families lives on at the Blue Heron Outdoor Museum. Blue Heron, or Mine 18, tells the story of the people who lived and worked for the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company. While the Stearns Company was busy changing the landscape and selling the earth by the pound, the seclusion of this place colored the lives of the people who called this place home. It is their story that we wish to tell.
