The North Rim Visitor Center is located within the Grand Canyon Lodge complex, adjacent to the main parking area for the lodge and Bright Angel Point — at the southern terminus of Arizona State Route 67, near the rim of Grand Canyon. Meet at the Roaring Springs Overlook just north of the visitor center building, on the canyon side of the main parking lot at 9:00 am —for project briefing and required registration. The North Rim, and the North Rim Visitor Center are open for the season between May 15, through October 15, 2022.

Description

Want to get up close and personal with some of Grand Canyon's most colorful critters?
Join us on Saturday, July 16, 2022 for the annual citizen-science, North Rim Butterfly Count! Under expert guidance, volunteers will count, net, identify, and record butterflies to help us better understand our butterfly populations.
 
Meet at the Roaring Springs Overlook on the east side of the visitor center parking lot at 9:00 am for project briefing and required registration. Masks are required in government buildings and vehicles.
 
When: Saturday, July 16 from 9 am to 3 pm

Where: Start and end at the Roaring Springs Overlook near the North Rim Visitor Center
