MLK Day with Muir Woods Maintenance

When: Saturday, January 17th, 9am - noon.
Where: Muir Woods National Monument; registration is required.
Join us in the Woods to help prolong the life of the Muir Woods boardwalk by giving it a good "floss" to remove dirt and debris. This is a fun, family-friendly project!
Age, Skills, What to Bring:
- Volunteers ages 5+ are welcome. Read our Youth Policy Guidelines (PDF) for youth under the age of 15. Volunteers ages 5-13 can attend with a parent/guardian, ages 14 & up can attend without a parent/guardian.
- You'll need to fill out a Volunteer Agreement Form (PDF) on-site on the day of the event. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed. If participants under 18 will be arriving without a parent/guardian present, please get in touch with the volunteer manager to obtain a form to print and sign ahead of time. Participants under 18 will not be allowed to volunteer without this specific form properly signed & dated.
- We'll be working rain or shine. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary.
- Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.
- No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Fulfills community service requirement
Fees
Entrance and parking fees will be waived for all participants. Once you have filled out the registration form, the event coordinator will send you a complimentary parking pass. You are welcome to stay after the event and go for a walk or hike in Muir Woods National Monument.
